Fun and interactive

Messy, sensory play where touching, squishing, and licking are celebrated; without pressure to eat.

Age Appropriate learning

Tailored activities for children aged 2-5 to promote confidence and exploration.

Grow their confidence with food.

Build confidence through play and curiosity exploring new textures and flavours.

Think squishy, crunchy, bumpy, smooth, wobbly, sticky and everything in between. By touching, smelling, squishing and investigating foods in sensory based activity kids learn that their body can handle different sensations.

Build positive relationships with food.

Our world is full of noisy messages about “good” bodies and “bad” foods—and kids pick up on it fast. Research shows that concerns about food, body image, and restrictive eating patterns can begin as early as preschool age.

It’s not too late to nurture and teach our children to build positive relationships with food and wellbeing through the early years - foundations that will stick with them for life.

So much more than a play group!

Developed and facilitated by a qualified Dietitian and Nutritionist, the Food Explorer program is evidence based and designed to foster positive relationships with food during the early years.

If there’s one thing that’s certain as a parent, it’s that feeding kids isn’t always straightforward or consistent.

And when their appetites, food preferences or behaviours change, you might find yourself:

  • Second-guessing if you’re doing it “right”. Is my child getting enough nutrients to grow and develop?

  • Wondering what’s normal and what’s not when it comes to picky eating. “My 4yo will still only eat pasta and potatoes.

  • Falling down a Dr. Google rabbit hole at 2am searching “how to get my child to eat vegetables” or “how much should my child be eating”

  • Feeling like you’re either pushing too hard or not doing enough. “Just ONE MORE BITE”

Sound familiar?

Our Food Explorer program is designed to help parents navigate the tricky moments of feeding kids and how to foster positive relationships with food through the early years —without the stress, guilt, or second-guessing.

During each session you’ll recieve reassuring, practical, and realistic guidance. So you are prepared for when you need it most—whether it’s protests at the dinner table, or the ‘I’m hungry’ screams right before bedtime.

We’re here for the messy in-between years — when eating habits are still forming and sensory preferences are loud. Food Explorer sessions pick up right where “starting solids” support leaves off, so you’re never left navigating the chaos alone.

What to expect:

  • 60 minute, small group food based play sessions

  • Sensory food stations (think edible slime, rainbow rice, fruit kebabs, veggie stamping and many more tasty adventures)

  • 100% taste-safe play (lots of happy tummies!)

  • Songs, stories and games based on age appropriate understanding of food and our bodies

  • Zero pressure to eat — touching, smelling, licking and playing all count as wins

  • Take-home parent handout each week including activities to try at home

  • Access to our team of dietitians for questions and support during sessions

Through my years working as a children's mental health dietitian I have a special interest in working with children with a variety of neurodivergent conditions, including autism, ADHD, and sensory processing differences. With a strong foundation in evidence-based nutrition and a warm, compassionate approach, I help families navigate the complex relationship between food, mood, and behaviour. The research shows that playful, repeated, no-pressure exposure is the single most powerful way to grow confident eaters — and it should feel like fun, not fixing.

That’s what Munch Mates is all about!

Whatever stage you are at in your family's food journey or challenges you may be facing, I'm here to help navigate it with confidence, ease and JOY.  Whether that's cooking together, exposure to new foods or textures, or simply having everyone gather around the table. Food and mealtimes for our family are all about sharing a laugh, unwinding and moments of connection that last far beyond the table. I am excited to help bring that magic into your home!
